What to explore

Sophia Basilica (Old Metropolis) – Impressive ruins dating back to the 5th–6th century, reflecting Nessebar’s importance as an early Christian centre. The space is defined by a quiet sense of scale and timelessness.

Church of Christ Pantocrator – One of the finest preserved medieval churches from the 13th–14th century, distinguished by its intricate façade of brickwork and ceramic detailing. Today it functions as an art gallery while retaining its authentic character.

Archaeological Museum – Nessebar – Offers a rich insight into the town’s evolution, from Thracian and ancient Greek origins to the Bulgarian Revival period.

Ethnographic Museum – Housed in a traditional Revival home, it presents the everyday life, customs and craftsmanship of the region.

A culinary experience by the sea – Nessebar is as much about flavour as it is about history. The old town is home to a selection of restaurants and intimate dining spots, many set along the waterfront or tucked within its historic streets.
